Tour guide/director is an exciting and rewarding career that provides opportunity to work and travel at the same time. It allows the tour guide to meet people from diverse backgrounds and with various personality traits, which enables to grow both personally and professionally. A tour guide should have a happy and healthy attitude towards others and an ability to be flexible and adaptable.
Upon completion of this program, the student will learn and understand the components, complexities and responsibilities of a Tour Guide/Director. The program focuses on important aspects of Tour Guide job responsibilities, such as researching and connecting with potential groups, creating enticing promotional material, developing tour components and many others.
OSSD (Ontario Secondary School Diploma) or out of province/country equivalent. An applicant who has not graduated high school may apply as a Mature Student (18 yrs. and over). As this is a non-vocational program, there is no minimum prerequisite other than a strong interest in learning about and developing skills on this topic.
This certificate program is generally offered through online training and distance education (home studies), in which case the student is provided with course materials including theory notes and the assignment.
When student has completed the program and advised the college, a test is provided. An overall grading will be assessed once the assignment and test is marked (within fourteen days from receipt at the college). Passing grade is 70%.
Upon successful completion of the program with a passing grade of 70% or higher, a certificate is issued within thirty days.

The student is responsible for payment of all related banking fees. For this reason, we recommend students to transfer deposit payments at any TD Canada Trust branch in Canada as per attached banking instructions.
When contacting the college, the student should have a plan as to when to start the program, allowing approximately thirty days from the time of the contact for processing the registration.
Once the college receives the completed and signed Enrolment Contract, a copy of the pre-requisite and full payment, and course materials will be sent by X-Press Post. Allow up to 10 days for delivery. The student should be prepared to start immediately after receiving program materials.
